I've decided that last power outtage was a good thing, because I needed to rewrite the begining of that story... And I'm reminded to save more.

A visit to the chiropractor has me feeling much better. It was that stupid bit right between my cervical and thurassic spine -- which I'd figured out, and given myself very suggestive looking carpet burns trying to fix, but to no avail. I *so* don't need to be hunchbacked... (Craig insists that it isn't really noticable, and I'm not sure if a) I'm oversensitive b) he's polite or c) he's oblivious. All seem likely.)

Many tomatoes are turning red. Checking several times a day does not seem to speed the process. My scarlet runner beans have wee little beans growing, and even my recalcitrant eggplants that I'd been kind of giving up on are flowering. Played a bunch with my new half-moon edger. Not really the right toy for the heat, but still amusing.

Today the house was in the low seventies past 4 pm. (The yard however was in the mid nineties. I wonder if I'll ever had the right kind of round to its to automate this system -- be a lot cheaper than AC.) Might benefit from another fan, though...

Oh, and I'm realizing that I really love my toaster oven. It's a pretty spiff toaster oven -- all rigged out with a rotisserie (that I've never used). It's just the thing for roasting vegetables when there aren't enough for the big oven, or you don't want to heat up the kitchen. Or broiling fish. Or toasting bruschetta. Or roasting potatoes... Tonight we had roasted english almond fingerling potatoes, broiled turbot, and string beans sauteed in fish sauce and pepper paste. Simple, quick, tastey.

I need to put a big cooking small section in my cookbook. With recipes like brownies for one. (Craig says I don't understand brownies, and part of the fun is eating a whole tray of brownies by yourself. Ugh. Maybe that's why I never make brownies.)
