(no subject)

I've been wanting to do a test of concurrent connections through my phone as an access point. So today, the building internet went down. I turned on my phone as an access point and only belatedly noticed that I had the password turned off (I was last using it with the TouchBook, which has issues with ad-hoc wifi...) Anyhow, by then we'd set up our Skype session, and were happily working away through Knuth (it supported video just fine, though we only had it up briefly as I didn't want to abuse the available bandwidth) so I figured, whatever, I was going to invite the rest of the lab to jump on anyway.

Twenty minutes later, I check the logs and realize half of the building is now connected through my phone. And yet the Skype session was doing fine, and response was snappy. Darn. I was going to do a stress test one of these days...

Anyhow, so I kicked everyone off and reinstituted a password. And then went downstairs to tell people who I actually like what the password is (we have an auditorium right next to the annex, and having the people there jump on the phone was a bit much.)

So. I guess I have more bandwidth than I'd realized.

recs for a belt-pouch running thing?

I'm thinking of picking up some kind of belt pack. For running, mostly - I want to run more after doing forms, so I need a place to comfortably stash my phone and keys. (I'll risk my waterbottle, though something with a mesh pocket for a water bottle could be nice, as long as it stays in place well enough.)

It'd also be nice to have something that could function as pockets when I'm not wearing pants with pockets. (What is it with women's clothes, anyway?)

Recommendations? REI has a bunch of hydration packs that might fit the bill, but having limited experience running with such things I figured I'd throw it out to the more experienced.
