Dec. 23rd, 2002 07:15 pmWhew!
That bathroom was finished in time for the party. Though it didn't acquire a reasonable complement of cobalt glass until later, and we still need something for the wall to replace the beautiful blue and green and black framed carved mirror of
canyonwren's. I am very happy with the bathroom, and keep wandering on there and turning off and on the lights. But I still need to replace the fan...
The party was very fine. Nice group of people. (Though a number of people didn't make it for various reasons -- being sick being a common one -- and y'all were missed.) The salmon chowder worked. (I usually do one vegan and one omnivorous soup, and the latter this year was salmon chowder instead of oxtail -- requires more cooking during the party, but it wasn't too disruptive, I think.) Actually left the kitchen and sat down by eleven. Many wretched things were burned, going to have to think about burning things we're hoping not to see in the next year -- is this a prophylactic? The spectacle of a Jew leading a bunch of mixed heathens in a Catholic prayers was fun, too. (I need to sing more.)
Yesterday I was very sleep deprived, and the 3:00 showing of The Two Towers sold out before we got there. Much stumbling around in a haze.
Today started off with a relatively early morning appointment, and then running
jadine down to the airport. Got caught up with gossip with
dianthus during the 45 minutes it took me to least SeaTac... and then I got a bright idea to stop by IKEA while I was down south. Having so squandered my sanity, I proceeded to hit redmond town center and tree top toys before I went home... and that pretty much brings me up to the current time. Too much driving...
