20 things about you...
Jun. 3rd, 2003 12:16 pmI got this idea from
zaratyst who got it from someone else... The basic idea is to take 20 LJ users, write something about each of them. Do not reveal which remarks are about which people.
I enjoyed reading her list so much, I had to make my own ;-)
1) I wonder if we'd even spend time together in person? One of the few LJ people I don't know face to face, and likely will never meet. An odd sort of a window into another world.
2) You kind of scare me. Or make me uncomfortable, anyway. I think it's the idealism.
3) One of my oldest and dearest friends, though our lives are very different in some ways. I bet you don't realize the ways in which I envy you.
4) You're really cute. And very cool. And I do see you often enough either. And you can't right click on people and pull up their properties to find whether or not they're poly. Not that I'd know what to do with you if you were, and were...
5) Plain, which is something I'm trying to wrap my mind around. But with a quiet elegance. It's strange how your mannerisms remind me of someone very different.
6) You're clueless and obnoxious and yet I find myself fond of you anyway. At least in small to moderate quantities.
7) I thought of you for years after you abruptly left the social circle I knew you from, always wishing that I'd taken the time, or untied my tongue enough, to write to you when you left, but I was caught up then with my own problems. (Which is a lame excuse, I'll grant you.)
8) Kickin' ass. Kickin' ass. Don't know much more to say!
9) I like you a lot, and hope that someday I'll see you a little less fractured within yourself. You're quite unique as you are -- the pretenses don't really add much.
10) I have this enduring impression of patinece and sweetness from you, and yet we've only exchanged a few words. You almost certainly know more about me than I do about you.
11) It's hard to watch someone whose life experiences in some ways mirror my own and other ways so much do not... I never can tell what is caused by the ways we're alike, and what by the ways we're different.
12) You're one of those people I think of as family, even though we don't see each other very often. Sometimes I wonder if I should have slept with you when I had the chance.
13) I wish you updated your journal more often. You're someone I like being in touch with.
14) You're another one I wish I knew better! But I hardly know how, even knowing people in common and having interests in common doesn't make it easy.
15) I don't think you have a mean bone in your body, which is probably why I'm not really angry with you. That hurt, though. And I take some satisfaction from that wide-eyed deer in the headlights look you get sometimes.
16) Being with you has made a good friend of mine the happiest I've ever seen them. (Bad grammar, I know, but English tends to force gender on pronouns.) I hardly know you, but I like you for that alone.
17) So frickin' young. I can't believe they let you out on your own. If you were closer, I'd probably get all protective about you, but I'd try not to show it.
18) When I think of you I think of beauty and grace and yet I don't know if you've really touched down. There is something very ephemeral about your life.
19) I still have very little clue what you are about. Do passions drive you? What passions? Where are you going? You seem to be so placid, and yet it cannot be true.
20) I worry about you. You're smart, capable, and yet more vulnerable than you try to be. I hope your partner(s) can respect that.
