Collecting trips?

I've talked to a couple of people (most notably damiana_swan and chicagojo) about dragging them out collecting herbs and suchlike. It's now serious collecting season for a great number of herbs, not to mention roots and berries and other tasty bits. (Just starting in on the mushrooms, though.)

I'm probably going to be up in the mountains a couple of times (if not more) this week, and at least one day next weekend.

Are folks interested in coming? If you are, is there something in particular you're wanting to collect?

Just got in from collecting more wild ginger, western coltsfoot, and vanilla leaf...

The Russian submarine tour was very cool. Much more interesting than I expected, really. Maybe even more so because I was still coming out of a benedryl haze... I suspect I am going to have some strange dreams about living on a sub.

The strangest bit was that I felt like I could have gotten used to it. (<-- most likely to have been influenced by benedryl.) Except the kitchen. I don't think I could have gotten used to the kitchen. Ew. But when we first went down, it seemed almost unbearably crowded (and I'm not the least claustrophobic -- it just seemed difficult to move.) By the end, my brain had adjusted, kindof the way it does in winter when the house gets bigger to accomodate your need to be inside more... But morese.

The incessant noise might have helped...

Tomorrow I start on the actual game part of the D&D game I'm running for my godsons. I hope I've prepared enough... Should be fine, but I'm a little worried about pacing with the boys. Of course, I'm also worried about grandstanding, temper tantrums, thrown dice, harrassed kitties. (I adore the boys, but this is gaming...) The elder, I've heard, has been writing up reems and reems of character background. Oy.

But isn't it cute?
