Power outage

We're still without power -- turns out that in addition to the big blowout that took out the whole area, there was also a little one that just took out our street. Looks like they're going to be digging up lots of cable... I'm hoping it will be back soon, but who knows? 24 hours and counting...

Mostly it's been a pleasant interlude -- fired up the oven and gamed with the boys by candlelight last night, very atmospheric... House is plenty warm, and between the oven and the fondue burner I haven't even bothered to break out the propane stove. Still have hot water, plenty of oil lamps and candles...

However, our backup internet connection (Craig's laptop over the cell phones) is currently not working (we're having credential problems) and we can't get through to the fricking office to get that fixed... so for the moment we're mostly offline until this issue can be resolved. And that really bites. (I was willing to forgive them for not being in their offices yesterday...)

Our power is back

So we'll be online more regularly. And in theory, the back up system should be working, though I haven't tested it yet.

But a bigger windstorm is due... tomorrow! Oh well, this was the dry run. Now we're good to go!

Though I really wanted to go hiking tomorrow. I should have gone today... really needed the extra few hours of sleep, though.
