Anyone have any rec0ommendations for a middle school (probably private) that could accomodate my very bright and rather idiosyncratic godson?

After various hassles (some of which are referred to earlier in this journal) his parents found a good school for him and his younger brother, and he is now in sixth grade. Last night, the school announced that they are going to discontinue their 7th and 8th grade programs next year... And while the family is scrambling to get applications in, many of the local schools have application deadlines tomorrow.

I thought I remembered hearing about some hybrid homeschool programs...

Maybe I'm getting the hang of this sleep thing.

I woke up this morning, to go deal with the septic people. (After all the hassle, and too much money, it turns out that the second septic lid wasn't under the deck, it was right next to the first.) So, the good news is that we're good to go for another five years or so, the drainfield is in good shape... and it's a surprisingly good feeling having that dealt with.

And hour and a half later I curled back up in bed and dozed for a bit. The whole start the day with a shot of adrenaline thing seems to be toning down, anyway.

I was good and sat out for most of sword yesterday, and my shoulder thanks me for it. Maybe I am starting to get better. I am very annoyed with my shoulder's recalcitrance. I tired way to quickly during Chen yesterday, but I think most of that was the extra work of trying not to hurt the shoulder. If I really relax, and really concentrate, I can do most of the form without using the more tweaked muscles, but it's all kind of odd. Meanwhile, my right foot is a mass of bruises, and my left foot insists on leaking, but both are annoying rather than major interferences.
