Same as last year, I'm intending to lead a series of hikes this Spring, Summer, and probably on into the Fall.

I usually alternate easy and moderate hikes, and try to provide and idea not only of how long they are but what all is involved (tricky climbing, steeps hills -- or, for that matter, the utter lack of such things). The easy hikes really are easy, and aimed at people who don't hike a lot and kids, and tend to run up to four miles -- if the miles are fairly flat. (The shortest was around one mile, though an especially scenic mile.) I also try to keep them within an hour or so of the city (though there will be a few exceptions for particularly neat trails a little farther out.) The moderate hikes tend to be more like 3-6 miles, but again, this can be adjusted upwards or downwards depending on interest.

In addition to Livejournal, I usually post this information to the local pagan and polyamory mailing lists, but they aren't specifically pagan or poly events. (I've sometimes thought about calling them "Freaks and geeks in the peaks" which would probably sum it up pretty well.) If there's enough interest (especially among people not on LJ or either mailing list) I might create an announcement list of my own. (This might be particularly important early season, when hikes are often cancelled for weather.)

I'd like to start off the season in April, probably with something close and reliable (and snow free) like Twin Falls or The Old Robe River Trail.

Oh, and this year because of my martial arts schedule, hikes are going to tend to be on Saturdays.

(I'm also generally available for hiking during the week if anyone is interested. There are a lot of places that are too crowded on weekends for my taste that make great weekday jaunts.)
