Y'know how conservative right wing Christian types have co-opted the words "Family" and "Life"? So if you see something with a sign out in front saying "Family Bookstore" you can pretty much translate that into "Christian Bookstore" and so on? (Or heck, how "Pro-Family" is code for "Hates Fags".) "Life" is used similarly, I believe, though I have have more trouble untangling it's uses away from the anti-abortion specific context. ("Say yes to life!" Huh?)
I think socially liberal, pro-diversity, inclusive weirdo freaks should aim for a similar co-option of the word "Friendly". I mean, we use it's derivations often enough -- poly friendly, kink friendly, queer friendly, geek friendly whatever... And that's still fine, if you're talking about something that specific, but I like the idea of say, referring a business, or an event, or whatever and just saying "they're friendly".
Wouldn't everyone just rather be friendly? I mean, being unfriendly is rude.
