I'm remembering what I don't like about physical therapy. Parts of me hurt. This was largely not true for a while (I'm not really counting standard sore muscles from wushu -- I mostly enjoy that) but it's been mostly true for a while now.

Most of the time, if I can keep it under a certain threshold, I can ignore this. Forward momentum helps.

Now, in the long run PT helps me hurt less, or not hurt. But in the short run it means I spend a lot of time concentrating on the bits that hurt. And while some of the things make me hurt less, some make me hurt more... but that's almost besides the point. I'm paying attention. I really have to ignore it hard and consistently for ignoring to work on a sore day.

The good news is that things are progressing already, and she's focusing on some of the areas that I kind of knew were a problem but hadn't gotten much of anywhere with the last PT. (Though we need to talk about posture. She doesn't want me to hold up my breasts, but she wants them up -- and while I support and understand the theory, the truth of the matter is that I'm topheavy, and balance by itself isn't enough. Though it looks like I've gone down another chest size, so a new bra might help.)

And, since I don't know if I've written about this, more good news is that it's looking more and more like I don't have a connective tissue disorder. It's been a given for a while that most of what has been going on what related to certain injuries, but there were a few anomolies -- like the massively sensitive spot around my SI joint. But surprise! That was an injury too, just one I'd forgotten. And that's almost completely cleared up. I also don't have any of the increased sensitivity to pain stuff going on. (On the contrary, my threshold for pain has gotten high enough that the problem is that I often don't notice or take things seriously. Working on keeping that appropriately tuned.

So mostly, I just have problems with my cervical and thurassic spine, with some various secondary things related to that. And various bits and pieces left over from the leg alignment stuff -- which might be mostly prodding into being active by the spine. And we're working on the spine.

Oh -- another bunch of birch leccinums today. This is the largest spring bolete fruiting I've ever seen. Most years it's maybe one small flush, if that, this year we're on the third.

And I may be feeling it today, but I really did do a lot of work in the garden yesterday. I should do more today, though... Of course, I've already managed to pawn off some of my extra buckle sorrell, lady's mantel, and salad burnett on [livejournal.com profile] poetry_lady. Yay!

So all the weather reports I've seen put the temperatures Wednesday through Friday or Saturday in the eighties, perhaps even low nineties. I keep telling myself that the garden will love it.

Blech.
