Jul. 8th, 2003 06:22 pmThree forms today. Compulsory combined sword, compulsory Chen, and Master Feng's Chen. Wasn't really sure I was up to the last after the first two, but I'm glad I did it. They all felt good, but the last particularly so. It cut through some of the fatigue, at least for a little while. Oh, and I did a lot of stretching, and spent a minute in wushu horse stance. Go me.
Yesterday I went to the park and went through the compulsory Chen twice.
Otherwise, far from the best day, though things do seem to be improving. Yesterday things were still pretty inflamed, and even the time I spent icing didn't really help. Today things are better, but I still have knotted muscles around my head -- not horrible headaches, thanks to the drugs, but it really hits my concentration. Knotted muscles everywhere else, too, of course. And this weird painful lump on the right side of my chest that disturbs me -- I kind of think it's a muscle, but if it is I can't see to get it to move. It just sits there and hurts if I rub it.
Pretty sure I'm not getting my article done in time, might not be getting it done at all. Depends on whether I can get my concentration better, I think -- doesn't even have to be that good, as it's pretty well outlined.
I'm starting to reach that state of frustration where I want to push myself physically. (And get the endorphin high.) But partly because it's hard for me to believe that the fatigue I'm feeling isn't just lethargy. Pushed it a bit harder today, will probably push it harder yet tomorrow in class. I think this kind of pushing it is okay, as long as I'm not doing quick, sudden moves where I could really hurt myself.
Gods I feel weird. Is it the sympathetic or para sympathetic nervous system that gets its knickers in a twist and leaves me feeling queasy? I should remember...
