Jul. 30th, 2003 03:15 pmThis morning, rather like yesterday morning, found me watering my lawn. Which isn't something I usually do.
Technically, I guess I was only watering small parts of my lawn -- the area around my front rockety bed, then along the front vegetable garden, and then the front rose bed (which is a mess, but that's another story. A few roses have made it... Actually I haven't really lost any more, but it's still annoying. Maybe I should pick up some of those Japanese brocade peonys that Kelda has...) The whole point of the exercise was to get the soil under the sod wet to make it easier to edge it and enlarge the bed -- so my front bed is now neatly edged and about 14" wider. So I'll water my lawn for the purpose of having less lawn. Go me.
I'll be growing more vegetables there, I think, as it gets some of the best light on the property, and moving the blueberries around back where they won't get so dry.
Ripe tomatoes. More squash blossoms than I've been able to eat (yet!) Need to start more brocolli and chard.
