So I just felt so darned happy and bouncy after wushu yesterday that I decided that it was time to try the Wednesday triple class. (Wushu conditioning/drill class, then sword, then Chen.)

And for the most part, it went pretty darned well. The biggest problem is food -- I don't want to go to wushu with much food in my stomach, but I need to be able to survive four hours of class. I should probably make a point of eating half a cliff bar between the last two classes or something.

The one thing I ran into today wasn't endurance (okay, I didn't push myself as hard as I could've on the endurance stuff in wushu) it was that wednesday is abs day, and I did a few more of those &(@!#&$ plyometric sit-ups than my neck really wanted to deal with. Then I stopped and just did leg lifts (really, I'd rather do the whole thing), but my neck was a little irritated, and sword can be hard on it. But.. though it whined at me a bit, it didn't really get too much in my way. As long as I kept it warm it didn't get worse, so I tied a shirt around my neck for the slow parts, and all was good.

After wushu, Taiji class can seem pretty slow. Not in a bad way, but going from being dripping with sweat to doing standing meditation in a moderately cool room can be kind of chilly.

Oh -- though I'm not that great on the slap your feet situps, I completely kick ass on the reverse sit ups. (The ones where you're on your belly, and raise your head and feet.) I got far and away the most per time period -- they're just really easy for me for some reason. I think it's my breasts -- you use the same muscles I use to hold up my breasts, I think, in that exercise. *And* while you never bring your head or feet back down to the floor between lifts, you do bring your chest down... and I think I kind of bounce off mine. Yup, giant springs hanging off my chest. Nice to know they're good for something.

Addendum one: So I got home to find a message from my massage therapist saying he'd hurt his knee and would have to cancel tomorrow. Poor him. Wah!

Addendum two: Part of the reason I went to wushu today is that I'll probably miss Sunday's class because we'll be in a seminar with Master Chen ZhenLei from nine to three Saturday and Sunday. (I'm not entirely sure by what logic this counts as a missed class, but... Anyhow, Shifu said something about moving the Sunday wushu classes later... so maybe I won't miss them after all! :P )
