Nov. 24th, 2003 01:06 pmWeird. For the last many years, I've generally kept my sleep schedule fairly regimented. I have semi-chronic insomnia (it's been chronic, it's mostly not a big problem now, but....), and I'm pretty protective of my sleep. I was even more protective of it when I was teaching, though doing a lot of geeking and interacting with people for pay while sleep deprived isn't really that fun either. Managing small children while sleep deprived is hellish.
I try to leave myself eight hours to sleep in, I'm usually okay if I can get six and a half, and I mostly don't get more than eight unless I'm ill.
But recently my sleep schedule has been all over the place. And I'm getting way too little sleep at least one night a week. And mostly it's not too much of a problem... (Though I like to sleep well after double wushu.) Perhaps I'll lose my fear of sleep dep yet. It can only help the insomnia. (There is nothing more dumb than not being able to get to sleep because you're worried about not getting enough sleep.)
Wushu will wear me out. Weights before bed works just fine. But while Taiji doesn't make me hyper... I just don't get tired. I could do Taiji all night. Which would be really dumb considering how few daylight hours we have right now.
Five hours of sleep last night. Hopefully I'll manage to get tired and go to bed at a reasonable hour. I'm actually a morning person, and like being up early. I just have too well developed a capacity to stay up late.
