Male Birth Control Pill

I think this is really cool. (BTW, my understanding is that there have been pills tested and found effective before, but the side effects -- which were similar to or less than those associated with the pill for women -- were considered to great to make it viable.)

The comments in the article were interesting in another way... Women and their nefarious plans? I mean, really -- yes, it's important for men to take control of their own fertility (though it's not like they haven't been able to do so!) And all the comments from men who wouldn't even consider hormonal options? (Again, I have some sympathy, and yet one wonders if their caution extends to their female partners... or if this is just another of those bits where women are at risk of pregnancy, and men aren't. Which is a pretty silly idea when you look at women's nefarious plans...)

Today I get to take the cutest almost five year old boy in the whole world* to see if he wants to take wushu. With, it sounds like, both his parents. Hee!

The family that trains together will complain together?

Just got back from taking my sister, nephew and nephew's father (step brother in law? or should I just call that brother outlaw?) to check out the wushu class.

I'm tickled pink. Tracey's into it, though not ragingly enthusiastic (he was more interested in playing with my PDA). Sean is completely into it. And so is Lauren. The one catch is that while I can cover Tracey, and Sean can cover himself, Lauren's currently in school full time and money is tight... we'll work something out.

(Hmm. Her birthday is on Dec 5th... Anyone interested in donating to a send Lauren to Wushu fund? I already bought her 1/3 of a bicycle for her birthday and Yule...)
