Jan. 4th, 2004 04:53 pmI keep telling myself that it's still too soon after Solstice for the day length to feel this different, and that it must just be the light and the snow, but it the year feels brighter already. There's a fire in the oven, and bread rising (which may or may not get finished in time to take anywhere this evening, but...) Kitties grooming themselves everywhere, and a prodigous number of wool socks drying on the bannister near the oven.
(Really, I have a whole lot of wool socks. A circumstance that I am thankful for at the moment. I even have three pairs of my prettiest blue and green rag wool socks, though the marino wool with the fuzzy insides ones are warmer.)
Next week I think I'm going to go in to the UW and talk to people in the PT department. I'm definately talking to Kendall, and possibly calling a few other places. I'm getting a better idea of where I'd like to go with this. I feel like with the Taiji I've been studying how to move and use one's body as an art. And this is very good. But I want to understand it as a science as well. (I think this is why the more alternative programs are so unappealling to me.) Though if I start studying Physiology, and my dad hears about it, he'll probably laugh himself sick.
I think I'm ready for the quarter to begin. I still have something annoying going on with something that runs along my spine from the right side of my neck to behind my shoulder blade, but the martial arts so far seem to do more good than harm, and nothing else seems to be getting the sucker.
I also have a drawer full of zucchini, peppers, fennel, carrots and lettuce. Not particularly seasonal, but oh those sound like the right sort of thing...
Cookies?
