Mar. 28th, 2004 11:11 pmWent hiking with K. down along a river off the Mountain Loop Highway. (I should probably figure out which river. The selection process was "hey, that looks pretty, maybe we should try to hike along it". Not really used to hiking on weekends when there are large numbers of other people around.) Beautiful day -- very early spring, except it seemed to get later closer to the water. Thick carpets of moss, blueberries in flower, wide rocky beaches, huge trees having toppled across portions of the river to inch one's way across... Strange remenants of paved paths, that then end, crumbling, at the riverbank. Feats of balance and derring do. Suddenly noticing that there are other people up ahead. Suddenly realizing that those other people seem to be hurriedly putting their clothes back on... (We attempted a polite retreat. Not the easiest terrain for it.)
Sun. Even with my sunglasses, my eyes were startled by the sun.
How many times will I find that it is easy not to make getting out a priority, and then remember abruptly why it is so very important to? I feel cleaned, and rebalanced.
