Feb. 1st, 2005 11:25 pmI'm still busy, but... now that the Jess project is in, I'm reminded that I really enjoy what I'm doing. There are so many blessing in my life.
Like the people in the Artspawn Taiji classes. You all make me so happy. Even when I'm unsure about the rest of it, working with you all seems like something trully worthwhile.
And the weather! Darn. I mean, the pollen is a little excessive, and it's hard to trust weather this nice this early... but one can enjoy it.
I spent the late morning and part of the afternoon working out a prototype for the team web page. It's hard to take seriously -- especially when I'm spending fully half the time designing a logo. (In paint. Gah. I need to learn a better tool. But then I have to resign myself to learning to use the tool, and if I do that they're going to expect me to be a graphic artist on call. Ew.) But... It's pleasant work. Focused, but also relaxing.
And talking to people about biomechanics and RSIs. So I have weird hobbies... I would study to be a physiatrist, I tell you, if it fit in better with the rest of my academic goals. I wish I could make them all fit together better.
And having to translate extended passages from the Zhan Guo Ce (and kind of dreading it -- there were a number of tricky characters in the first couple of lines)... and then realizing that I'm familiar with the story. (It's the one about the Kingfisher that tried to eat an oyster, only to have the oyster slam shut on its beak.)
