Apparently I have an abcessed tooth. Yes, indeed, the tooth I had an emergency root canal on a couple of months back. It started to get swollen several weeks ago... and then changed it mind. (Or, I suppose, my immune system won. Against most of what was there, anyway.) But now the me resistant strains are back... could be something to do with all the sleep I didn't get this week.

Okay. Presciption for penicillin on the way.

Wah. I really was hoping to get as much sleep as I wanted last night...

On the plus side, after the pinched nerve in my leg gave me so much grief Friday and Saturday morning, I figured I'd see if by any chance it was a chiropractic issue. (I really thought it was muscular.) Got an appointment on amazingly short notice, they looked me over "no, this looks good, this is in good shape, just a little tight -- you been on the computer a lot recently? Oh, wait, there's something right in your SI joint." One slight adjustment, and problem solved. And I feel pretty dumb now for not checking out that option earlier, but I'll take "dumb, but not in pain" for this sort of issue.

All I wanted to do was sit down with some food and read for a little bit. But as I came around the corner, there was Gwinn, chasing a bird (in the entry way -- did I mention our boys are catch and release hunters?) So I fended off Gwinn while catching the bird, which I then released onto the front porch.

Gwinn attempted to dive through the door for another chance, while the bird got itself reoriented. So I slammed the door in his face, locking myself outside, and the bird, feeling better, flew off.

For a holiday, this is sure shaping up to be a Monday.

I've heard Asics, the athletic shoe company from which I get all of my martial arts shoes, and most of my other shoes, has released some shoes pretty similar to my favorite martial arts shoes for street wear. So I was trying to look them up...
