I was just listening to KUOW, and they were interviewing people at the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts, which reminded me of your wish to learn aerial silks. Now, they have Aerial classes that emphasize trapeze and hoop, and don't mention silks or rope work, but one the show they were showing someone how to use some kind of cloth rope for inversions and other poses and tricks. And... trampoline! And high wire! And unicycle! Whee!
(If you'd like company checking it out at some time, I would be happy to go along. Heck, I might even manage to make it down there on my own...)
