I haven't been doing that much cooking (though I haven't even written up the more interesting stuff I have done) and I've been eating a lot of fruit.
Generally, though, half of all the fruit I eat is apples. While this is fine... it's April, and the local organic apples I favor aren't really at their best. (In two days I've had two that were substantially less appealing on the inside than on the outside. blech!) I've been eating a lot more citrus (mineolas are wonderful, though messy! and I eat blood oranges as long as I can get good ones) but I'm also realizing that I'd always been more of a vegetable person than a fruit person, and it's fairly likely I'm overlooking some of the good ones. I love the cherimoyas, for instance, but it took me a while to get around to trying them and figuring out when they were ripe. And they're still too expensive to have often.
So -- what's your favorite fruit? And would they survive bike bags?
