This really suprised me - not only because it does go against the conventional wisdom, but because darn, it seems like half of everyone I know who isn't already in grad school is looking at going back to school one way or another. (Admittedly, many of the people I know are seeking graduate degrees so that they can leave their high paying job to do something that pays less... but that they actually like. Probably not exactly a representative sample.)
