Oct. 28th, 2009 10:00 amWell, that was a little different.
It's been muddy even when it hasn't rained particularly recently, so when I woke up to rain it was pretty much a given I'd be training on campus. Kendrick slept in, and there was a fiendish device on his side of the table. So when he got up I asked him a few questions, and he explained, and, well, I headed in later than usual. Minus: if I get a full training session in in the biology auditorium, Dr. C will likely be showing up before I'm done. Plus: the gymnasium was opening, so I could go practice there. (I usually just head over afterwards, around the time it opens, to shower.)
So, I went to train, and the big multipurpose room was empty. Kind of slow starting (I've had this on and off virus - mostly off, I'll admit - for a few weeks now, and yesterday was icky) but once I'd warmed up things were moving well. Around that time a couple of students and one of the fitness instructors showed up, but encouraged me to stay since they'd be just doing some biking.
"Some biking" turned out to mean that they were doing a spinning class, about ten students overall. With music. Um... music, when I'm already in a pretty vigorous place, is kind of fun, really. Am I disciplined for training, or undisciplined for training a lot longer than was my original plan. Anyhow, it's a great place, and I've been invited to use the back half of the room whenever they're there. (And they don't mind me doing weapons work, which is nice, since I'd carted my swords down there.)
Apparently, though, I'm a spectator sport.
