Got some good training in. I am about 3/4 of the way through Chen jian now. Though both Saturday and Sunday involved my legs hurting kind of a lot. I am still pretty optimistic about the current remodel - I mean, it seems to be straightening out my knees, and helping my hip positiong, and it really helps with maintaining peng in my legs. I think I'm most of the way through this phase of it. But that means that while things are generally improved, I'll have these phases where everything hurts. And my SI joint has been pretty irritable. (Then there was the weird leg cramp... I think I had some weird fluctuations in my Na/K balance, but it was pretty odd. K helpfully pointed out that one of the symptoms was pretty typical of deep vein thrombosis... I now know more about deep vein thrombosis, and am less disturbed. And I ate a bunch of bananas, and the dratted thing is finally settling down.) Sitting hurt - or at least, standing up again did - and it hasn't done that to any great extent for a while. And at the moment I have less rotation in my hips, but again, I think it's likely this is transitory. I finally took stern measures with the region, and it's doing a lot better today.

Programming the new thingie went wonderfully. Which is to say, it didn't work, so I spent a bunch of time debugging the board (which was fun and educational) and didn't find any problems. That was the thingie-board. Then I went back and rechecked the pogo-pins on the programmer board, and found that one has a loose connection. This being fixed (K insisted on doing that, as he'd mounted the pin originally) everything loaded but didn't behave well, until I realized I hadn't set the chip type right in the code, after which everything worked. So I got most of the advantages of doing that much debugging, but have the satisfaction of knowing that I put the physical stuff together right the first time, and got everything but the chip right in the code. (I'd prototyped the code on a different but similar chip.)

Sadly, Radio Shack didn't carry any board blanks. Going to run by the electronics shop this afternoon. If they don't have them, I'm putting in an order tonight. Must make more boards. Rahr.

Have a motor for the chime (a plain old motor, not a fancy stepper motor which would be silly). Now I need a stick and a super ball, or facsimile thereof, to make a striker. Though the next two nights are my late nights, and K might get to it first. (OTOH, we've just put in an order for the ARM setup, so he's distracted by that.)

Being haunted by poetry. Scheming about having poetic introductions to each section of my dissertation. But I think I better make some time for real writing, or I'm going to start waking up at 1am and writing, which would suck since I get up at 4 anyway.

OMG, OMG! I might actually be getting consistent signal out of a study I've been working on for the last seven months! And I might be able to fully quantify it from my current data (I figured what I was collecting was exploratory, and I'd probably have to refine the experiments once I had a better idea what I was looking at.)

And Dr. Chiel isn't around to glee at. I've ran across two undergrads who have had some involvement with the project and ambushed them with the news, though
