Jul. 31st, 2010 11:31 amThat was almost a practice that didn't suck. Still not over this thing, but feeling pretty good. I guess it's possible that despite my efforts I was trying to do too much, and not resting enough. Taking things slow, but might go out and practice again this afternoon if I'm feeling up to it (and it's not too wet). The lack of physical stamina has me kind of creeped out - I don't want to overdo it, but it's really nice to have moving mostly feel good again.
Summer SPUR student presented, and did beautifully - even though she has the bug and had to take frequent breaks from standing in front of her poster to go sit down. (Sorry! Feel better!) Other surgical assistant will be stopping by this afternoon to relieve me of some portion of the Santa Sack of Vegetables.
Tied up my tomatoes yesterday, a task that's needed to happen for a while. Actually, all my solanums are just going nuts - the bell peppers continues to grow oddly but is covering itself in little peppers which will soon be big peppers, and the tomato of course wants to take over the world*. Both eggplants are all huge and productive. I probably should either pick up or start some more basil - maybe both. I love my thai basil, but this plant has been going for over a year and it's looking kind of weird. And I might want to root some of the vietnamese cilantro for folks, as it's not really available here.
And everything needs to be repotted, except for the bell peppers. I might do some of that for an afternoon break. I think I'm also going to have to find another spot for my hot(ish) pepper. (Which is a from a seed from one of Kendrick's pepper tree, which in turn was a volunteer from one of the peppers I got at the farmer's market.) It's colliding with its mom rather badly - maybe a hanging pot? But I'm most thrilled with the eggplants - I've wanted an eggplant tree ever since I heard such things were possible.
* Must remind Kendrick that my surgical assistants like fresh tomatoes even if he does not.
