Yesterday I noticed my muscles were sore and stiff in class. And this was Sword and Chen and while yes, I do push myself pretty hard in those classes, they still don't have the "send me through a meat grinder" quality of wushu. Today I woke up and I was just plain sore and tired. My knees were better, but the joints in my hands hurt. My hips and back really hurt. Everything was achey. I really didn't feel like I was getting sick, but I had to wonder... So I thought about it a bunch, a ended up trying an experiment.

I dressed for the weather.

That's really dumb, right? But look, for years and years I never wore a jacket. (For years there, if it was really foul out, I'd throw on a cloak -- in large part because I didn't own a jacket. And cloaks can be used to keep other things dry, too. From the time I was 11 or so until I won the court case against my father and bought myself some decent clothes when I was almost 17, I owned one canvas jacket that's zipper broke within the first year I had it. Though it was really cool...) I'd realized when my neck was in bad shape that I generally felt better if I dressed warmly, but I thought that was just the way being in pain fucked up my metabolism. (It's been demonstrated that I get cold if I'm sick.) And I've been feeling pretty good recently...

Oh well. The good news is that while I have only one pair of lightweight summer uniform pants, I have two pairs of heavyweight fleece lined pants, though one's a bit roomy.

I like the silver hair. I thought I saw a wrinkle yesterday, but it turned out to be a scar instead.

And wushu went okay. I think I have the flexibility back to go into bridge from standing, I'm just not sure if I trust my shoulder to catch me. (I need to try it a couple of times with a spotter.) Heck, I didn't even sit out of bagua/xingyi. (I just sucked a lot on the Xingyi forms that I hadn't learned because I was sitting out.)
