tylikA number of people at the party last night expressed an interest in FGP, which is the little hiking club a few of us founded a few years back. "Freaks and Geeks in the Peaks"
I just posted a fairly long message to the FGP community, and it reminded me that I should probably advertise its presense again. So hey, if you're interested, you should check it out. The overt agenda is hiking with cool people. The secret agenda (oops) is making hiking accessible -- so a lot of the hikes we do are easy to join, easy to get to, and easy to complete. And then the more people who are interested in more challenging hikes, the more of those we do too.
Also, I'd really encourage people to let any friends who might be interested know about the group. And post anything you think might be fun to do in that context. (Geocaching, for instance, would seem a natural.) I'd really like to see FGP become less of my pet project, and more of a self sustaining group, supporting a range of interests and priorities. There's obviously enough people and enough interest. (And just as obviously, I'm likely to drop the ball if I get too busy with school.)
