Jul. 22nd, 2005 12:50 pmI was so happy. I got my software. I was going to be able to get work done.
I'd been told that I absolutely had to uninstall the entirety of the old version first. Well, no problem. Though some of the components were ornery, and it took several tries.
Then I was told I couldn't run setup until I ran a program to clean out the older system from my machine. (Lucky I wasn't trying to upgrade.) So I did.
Then it told me I couldn't install the new build without the installer I had to download.
So I went to the download site, and then had to download a widget, so I could verify (again!) my copy of windows, so I could down load the installed, which I then had to install and which then rebooted my machine (without warning, and I lost a partially completed LJ post).
And now it's whining because there are files still left by a previous installation (after the uninstalls and the build cleaner)...
This is just stupid. I'm feeling like I never want to touch commercial software again.
