Oct. 23rd, 2005 06:23 pmThe flip side of the wonderful sleep promoting properties of regular training is that I haven't quite adapted to my current schedule, and despite getting plenty of sleep, and being careful about nutrition, I've spent most of the afternoon feeling rather like a nap would be a good thing. (Fr'instance, when I went up into the loft, to get my sheets to throw in the wash, I was surprised at the strength of the "it's a bed! one curls up on beds like this and naps!" reaction.) Significantly better than last Sunday, though. Have to keep in mind that I need to watch my protein intake until I've gotten my muscles built back up (oh, the fun of re-establishing wushu butt... oh my butt hurts). And probably magnesium as well. There is a part of me that whispers "you're too old for this, drop the wushu, and just do taiji". But if I was going to do that, I would have done it a year ago, I think.
I should make the people who show up for conditioning on Sunday spend more time in low stances. Whee. Crouch stance to bow stance transitions. Oh yes.
OTOH, Friday I only sat out sweeps and arc back kicks, and Saturday I didn't sit out anything at all, and things are mostly holding together. Kinda wishing I could take a meat tenderizer to my left pyriformis, though.
