Generalish sort of update

Yesterday evening I ended up fairly stressed. Okay, there are enough things in my life to generate stress, but still... I suspect much of the intensity, at least, was that classes started today, and that I'm pretty worried about whether my back is going to hold up. Not even really at a conscious level.
So after giving myself insomnia* I did finally get some sleep, only to be awakened by a pebble falling onto the boat, presumably from the bridge above. And headed into class, and was reminded that oh, yeah, this is just class. When not in mind numbing amounts of pain, not a big deal. I like class**.
And then, the damned database is actually going well, so all is well with the world. So much so, in fact, that after PT today I wandered into Fluevog's -- I'd never been -- and came out with a pair of shoes that is comfortble, well made, and not athletic shoes. And nifty. Been a while since I had nifty shoes.
* Yep, still on the meds which are supposed to help both the back pain and the insomnia. And they do. A lot. Really, this wasn't awful insomnia, it just involved not sleeping.
** Okay, generally I enjoy class. I knew that the O Chem class was going to be mostly review, and maybe kind of boring, but... This isn't the first class in the series, but he spent pretty much the entire day talking about how to draw lewis dot structures and carbon atom hybridization. Lewis dot structures, I'm not joking. I think I'm going to see if I can switch classes. The elderly droning prof with a strong accent is actually kind of charming, but... (OTOH, if I switch I need to take O Chem next quarter, too. So I should figure out who is teaching what then.)
The best moment was when I, looking around in that slightly panicked "here I am in the middle of a row and can not possibly sneak out, eek!" sort of way, caught the eye of the girl next to me, who was in a similar state, which interaction left us both stifling giggles.
