Mar. 4th, 2006 05:02 pmI went shopping today. Okay, I stopped by Lucy's for a couple of minutes to see if they had any biking knickers. And left with some nice capris, and a general sense that I should buy at least one fun outfit over break, sometime -- I really don't need any more black or grey athletic pants, or tech tees. I was also reminded that I own at least two shirts that are not tech tees, and I wear them seldom, because the V necks are a little too deep for my favorite sports bras... but I do actually own bras that work. So, er, clothes. (I actually like clothes, I'm just unwilling to compromise on function, and cheap, and haven't bothered spending much time shopping the last few years.)
So my lungs have been hating the fact that it's tree pollen season, and I started using the inhaler at least a month earlier than I think I normally do. And about a week ago I ran out, and the refill the member of my new doctor's team who is not my new doctor had called in was for the wrong strength... but I was busy and ignored it. And hey, for Chen, even the more active forms, like Dao, I was doing okay. And for biking. Last night, we started off running during wushu, and er, yeah. First time I've left early because I can't breathe.
So a few calls later I picked up the correct prescription, and today went a bunch better, though it will probably be a couple of days before things are really working. On the other hand, my stance work continues to feel good. And I'm settling back into my splits properly. (We'll see if this lasts -- I might have overdone it on the slightly pulled hamsting. Or maybe I just gave it a nice stretching. I'll know tomorrow.) So, not a great practice, but a fun practice. Even my shoulder, which has been a mess all week (posture related, though) seems to be speaking to me again.
I really want to go hiking tomorrow. I think I should. I am also apparently going to be fed sushi at my sister's. My mother is involved. I know what I mean when I say I'll prepare sushi, not so sure about it with my mother.
And Monday I turn thirty three. Isn't that supposed the be the age of wisdom or something? I could use some of that...
