Morning people are so polite...

tylikSince I'm not teaching this morning, I headed down to the PCC to recycle plastic bags and pick up a few things. Not a lot of people on the street, but everyone on the street, and everyone in the store was so cheerful. I think I was wished a "Good Morning" at least twenty times. (And returned the sentiment, of course.)
Microsoft was similar. I often biked in, and was there by eight, and for the first few hours I only saw cheerful joggers and bikers. (Then come ten or so we'd all go hide as the bulk of our grumpy coworkers showed up.)
I so very much like mornings. Especially early when most people aren't up and one can be energetic and focused in peace. I so often seem to be struggling for some kind of equilbrium with so many night owls in my life. (Disclosure: I'm a morning person. I also tend to perk up in the evenings, so it's easy to stay up late and not get enough sleep, ever. Sleeping 5-6 hours at night and another couple in the afternoon seems to suit me quite well, but usually my physical circumstances are not conducive to this.)
