So after posting last night I did a bunch of bagua circle walking. (It was supposed to be 512 steps, but it was a bunch more than that because I kept redoing things out of sequence.) And it actually got me kind of wired and jittery. While that's annoying when it's well after my usual bedtime, it was mostly a relief. Recently training has mostly made me feel like going back to bed.

This morning my hands were the least swollen and least sore that they've been in at least a week, probably more like two or three. And I was restless while studying -- normal for this sort of thing (where really, drawing out a section and then doing some dishes while I cement the concepts isn't a bad way to go) but not how things have been going for the last 5+ weeks. So after I'd done a reasonable amount of studying I went and did some Laojia Yilu, and jian, and dao, and then headed in for bagua. Where Ted decided to have us do evil kick drills. Normally this is something I would have enjoyed low stances, high kicks - whee!) today... well, I was dizzy, it was hard to breathe, and I missed one or two, but I survived. (Hey, if we'd done these last week, I would have been on the floor.) My endurance is crap, I feel that slightly shaky sort of drained... but I feel good, and not like I immediately have to go to bed. Overall I'm pretty pleased.

BTW -- yes, I was playing with my camera and with the GIMP, and I added a few userpics, two of which are of me. Yes, I've lost a bunch of weight. And maybe I look a little more gaunt because I've been sick... but mostly I think I tended to select for things that brought out the angularity a little more, because it's still kind of odd to me that my face is looking like that. Though I'm thrilled that I'm finally looking substantially different than when I was sixteen. That was more than half my life ago, afterall. (And maybe it's just that I shrank them. I guess I could post the originals if anyone cares.) But, seriously, other that having had a virus for the past five weeks I'm in good health.
