So I decided to try and drown my sorrows in upper body weight training. Just picked up some new weights, which made it nicer than usual. (I think I need to get a rack for the dumbells, next...) And then I was doing the forearm exercise Craig taught me, and (stupidly) worked my stronger arm first... trying to keep the other arm even, I got it to the point where the brain says "lift" and the arm... twitches slightly.

Oh. That's what "until completion" really means. (I usually stop when the burning gets painful enough that it occurs to me that I really need to use those limbs again sometime that week. I'm all about taking care of myself.)

Gods, I can't believe I'm doing this.

On the up side, I seem to have finally gotten past my ambivalence towards putting on lots of big bulky muscles. Yes, it is time to embrace my body type. Now I have to write some irate mail to those magazines that talk about how women just don't bulk up. And then maybe I'll go pick a fight with whoever it was who hung the BMI chart (also known as the chart of no fricking medical validity) up in Family Medicine of Redmond.
