May. 25th, 2011 11:47 amThings I would like to find today:
Poetry Journals. I've been out of the loop, and I don't have a sense of what poetry journals are doing what these days. By some standards, I'm aware my tastes are awfully snooty - for instance, I have a higher chance of liking poetry I find in the New Yorker than pretty much any other place. (The first poets I'm fond of that jump to mind are Linda Bierds and Sharon Olds, which makes me awfully mainstream, I know.) I was once pretty fond of Poetry Northwest, but a lot has happened with them since then - and I don't know what to expect now. What are the better national or international (but English language - though actually, I'd love to hear about Chinese language ones as well) journals these days.
Skorts with real shorts. I recently picked up a Title 9 skort. I like the idea. The execution... Look, I wanted shorts under there. This is more like a skirt with build in underwear - not what I was looking for in terms of either comfort or modesty. (It will be a long time before I forget demonstrating whirlwind kicks to REI staffers while dressed to go dancing. Good thing I color coordinated my underwear...)
Thoughts?
