...and the injection continues to wear off. This would generally be known as the procedure not working. (Basically, I got about nine days of relief, half of them while I was quite ill, which seems to happen whenever I get these injections.)

I don't know what comes next. I was able to get my appointment with Dr. Awesome moved up, but it's still two weeks in the future (it was originally scheduled to be a bit after the procedure, but then that got moved up.) Maybe there will be more conservative approaches that can be tried. I'm guessing we're really looking at surgical consults.

What I keep hearing is that most procedures have at best a 50% chance of providing significant relief. And of course, the procedures I find most interesting* are some of the less commonly done procedures - radio frequency disk revision (which isn't that uncommon at lumbar levels, but cervical is tricky), and disk replacement.

* That I find them interesting isn't necessarily a reason to try to have them done, though part of why I find them interesting is that they don't have some of the downsides one gets from more conventional procedures.
