Was she harder on us today? I was feeling pretty good (a little sore in my right shoulder, and right hip, but neither too awful) but my heavens, I haven't sweated that hard in class for a while. Craig says that it's partly my own fault -- Shifu had to pick something up at the other school, so she told Craig and I to lead warm ups, and he thinks I was over enthusiastic. (He, of course, was quiet.)

(I don't think the warm ups were harder than usual, but I pushed myself harder -- especially since I didn't only have to do them, I had to have enough breath to shout changes, too.)

But it wasn't just me. From about halfway throuh the class on, every time she let a sub-group rest, everyone just kind of collapsed against the wall and panted. Usually there's a certain amount of playing around and trying out new moves. We was beat.

Anyhow, after wushu and after dinner, I was pretty much ready to go home and curl up in the bath. But instead we did bagua, and I'm so glad. My ankles were finally stable enough to wear the felt soled shoes, and the mud walking kind of crystalized for me. Being able to slide properly makes even walking in circles amusing... While we worked on the forms, Shifu called out "Good, good! Your steps are very good! But your arms are everywhere." Oh well ;-) (She said my arms were much better the next time around.)
