tylikIt occurs to me that while that last image might be mouthwatering (at least to those who appreciate chantrelles) it is possible that there hasn't been enough cute in my journal recently. So, here, have a baby bunny:
We had a garden work party at the zendo today. (Another bonus to living in the zendo: bunches of folks came over and helped with the garden!) Anyhow, in this process people accidentally uncovered and startled a nest of baby bunnies.
So we kind of rounded them up, stuffed them back in the nest and replaced the cover.
Does anyone have a sense of just how upset this is going to leave the parents? The kids were pretty upset, and staged a few escapes in there, but they seem to have quieted back down. [ETA: Okay it looks like putting them back and leaving them alone was the right thing to do... and they're not that far from being independent anyway. I'll keep an eye on the nest, but it's probably fine. Especially since our neighborhood raptors haven't been around, so we haven't been losing the parents to predation.]
Now, I should shower and then have some... hm, I think fresh soba noodles with baby bok choy and chantrelles. And new garlic. Yes, I think that will be lovely.
