tylikSpent most of last night coughing. I think a humidifier would have helped a lot... Then again, there's something to be said for getting the dreck out of my lungs. Feeling relatively perky besides all of that. I might technically have bronchitis right now, but it's pretty mild. Still, I probably won't make it to wushu. (Which makes me feel pretty guilty, but enough is enough. And if I went, not only would I annoy Shifu, but I'd be miserable, have to sit out a lot, and I'd still probably re-injure my hip. Oh, and I might end up under doctor's orders not to work out and on another round of steroids, like the last time I pushed it when my lungs were fucked up. See, I can learn.)
Everyone had moments when they want to murder the previous owners of their home, right? After I thought I fixed the master bath toilet last night, it started giving me more problems... Now see, I'd already replaced the flappers on the other two toilets in the house, so when this one started to go I went out and bought the same kind. After all, all three look identical, and the other two took a screwy kind of flapper.
Problem is, that one didn't fit. While the outsides are the same, for some reason someone replaced the inner workings with something else. The new flapper, however, seemed to be a standard size, so I got one of those.
Not so fast! whatever new mechanical workings they have in there, they aren't quite properly aligned. The old flapper had a shape that compensated for that. The new one doesn't. I'm bringing the old one in to see if I can find it's identical twin, but if I can't I might have to replace the whole mechanicsm -- which will be especially annoying, because since the toilets aren't standard, I might not be able to find the right mechanism, and jerry-rigging the wrong mechanism is what started this, I suspect.
Oh well... have to run into town to get the cards printed, anyway.
