There's a special sort of feeling to getting a really good workout. Not a knock down drag out now I'm going to stumble up to bed an collapse workout, mind, but the kind of thing that leaves me nicely tired and with my body humming and my skin feeling luminiscent.

I spent way too much time on the computer today (but then again, on top of the long bit about my dad I also got all but the polishing out of the way for the next Widdershins article.) Took breaks to stretch, do forms, and lift weight, but I still came out of it headachey and kind of cold. (Which isn't really that bad, mind you.) Nursed myself through dinner and hot tea, and when I started to feel more or less alive again I spent forty minutes on the bike. And then more stretching, and all my wushu combinations (with extra work on that dratted crouch stance to bow stance over the other foot that I can do, but am not graceful at), then Chen.

Which means the only thing I haven't spent enough time practicing this week is bagua, so I guess that's tomorrow's project. (I really have to work out a better method of practicing bagua at home -- especially since I'm thinking that bagua is something in a general sense that I want to get more serious about. Which probably means cross training under another instructor or three, eventually, but also means being more faithful about practicing -- it's been my most blown off form, I think.)

Gods but this feels good. I've spent way too much time practicing recently with my hips and/or right shoulder being tweaked, and that just makes everything so much much tiring and less fun.
