Yesterday I got my SI joint support belt thingie. This is basically a wide stretchy strap I wear around my hips that somehow gives my SI joint enough support that the muscles on the front of my hip aren't falling over themselves to cramp up trying to compensate. I wear it under my clothes, and while it's a little odd, it's mostly no big deal. Wore it most of the day yesterday, and it did me know end of good -- my hips finally dropped properly, and had an eveness and range of motion I haven't felt for a while.

Before I went to bed, I took it off, climbed in under the sheets, curled up and then poing! I could just feel the joint slide out of place again.

My knees are also taped (I don't know if it's doing much good, as my knees weren't bothering me in the first place, but my PT things it will help my alignment.) My wrist, sore from too much playing on ebay last night, probably should be. Throw in the orthodics, the ankle wrapping I still am wearing sometimes while the sprain / strain heals, and I feel like it's taking an inordinate amount of equiptment just for me to be able to do my stuff well.

Most of it's obviously temporary... but I need to talk to my PT about the SI joint stuff, because it sounds a little like I might never get full stability back there, and I'm not sure if it's an area where muscle strength will compensate.

Meanwhile, I always prefer feeling better and being able to do stuff to otherwise... but there's something repugnant about needing hardware to do so.
