Jul. 31st, 2003 08:55 pmLast night I started wondering if I could use my super nifty garden pruners to remove my tonsils, and maybe cauterize them with a hot poker. Really, this sounded like a good idea -- though as some of you know I don't deal with with anything that prevents me from sleeping. And they are a bit better -- they hurt as much, but the swelling has gone down so swallowing is more possible. It's not so much the pain, it's that I can't swallow normally, to swallow at all I have to swallow hard, and everything triggers my gag reflex. I can't seem to keep all these muscles in my neck and back from tensing, and while they've been doing really well, it's the kind of achey sick that makes everything hurt.
It's still just so exhausting. I got a little sleep this afternoon, but between the fever and how much it hurt to swallow it wasn't much. (I heal really well if I can just sleep, but I'm a little phobic about being sleep deprived over any period of time.) And the choking, even when I mostly can supress leaves me feeling drained. I sneezed a bit ago, and it felt like I ripped out the back of my throat. Unfortunately, I had not.
Gah. I really need to go water the front garden. We have ripe tomatoes, and I don't know if I could even taste them...
For that matter, I have got to find something that I can swallow with a reasonable protein content. (And yes, eating silken tofu right out fo the box has occurred to me, but I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet.)
