Aug. 12th, 2003 11:25 pmSo after I got over being annoyed that the connection adapter didn't fit my device I decided to take a look at it and see if there was something that could be done with it that wouldn't necessarily void my warantee (and hey, if it does, I'll be out twenty odd bucks -- though I'm not really worried about it).
And lo and behold, cracking the case was fairly easy, and with little more adjusting the connector was working. (Though it's going to be tedious if I need to build my own housing.) So soon the thing was up and running, go me.
However, every time I type anything on the keyboard, it resets my backlight to the lowest level that doesn't actually turn it off. (Which will make it a lot harder to use outdoors, which is part of the reason for the whole exercise.) And it's really weird -- there are standard commands to turn the backlight on and off, but to turn it not quite off? I don't know wince particularly well... Though one would guess that this is a PocketPC 2003 issue, and I really don't know that.
Gah. I really didn't want to get a wince device... though I have to say I probably wouldn't enjoy reading on it nearly so much without the ClearType.
