Holiday Notice
Sep. 26th, 2003 02:29 pmFirst off, our Yule party will be from sundown, Sunday, December 21 to sunrise Monday December 22nd. Why? Because that's longest night, and considering how weird scheduling anything around that time of year is, it seems reasonable to stick to that. No, there is no requirement that says people have to stay the whole time. Some years we have a substantial overnight crowd, some years we do not.
There are still a few "staff" positions I'd like to fill -- someone to set up and nominally supervise candlemaking, for instance. (This is pretty easy, I have all the equiptment, but if no one is doing that specifically it may or may not be set up in time to be used by younger attendees who leave early.) I'd love to have someone keep an eye on towels for the hottub, and possibly toss a load in the wash if they get low. (Staff positions aren't generally that onerous.) Someone to bring and set up computer games might be a good idea too. (We really need to get 802.11g set up for the house by then...)
Also, it's time to start planning for Thanksgiving. I won't be trying to get a firm headcount for a bit here, but if you're one of the usual suspects, or would like to be one of the usual suspects, it'd be cool if you could drop me a preliminary note as to whether you can make it this year. Especially if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences, or would like to bring something in particular, as I like to account for those in preliminary planning as much as possible. (While the meal taken as a whole will be pretty darned omniverous, it's relatively simple to make sure there's a variety of food that's non allium / vegan / low carb or whatever. But only if we know to do it!)
