Went to a spa with my mother today.

Very cool. Spa owned and run by Kathy Rogers, a highschool friend of my mother's, naturopath, professor emeritus at Bastyr, etc. etc. Water cures -- contrast baths consisting of sauna and cold (cool, really -- 70 degree) plunges, neutral bath with seeweed and herbs, a steam bath, a dry brushing... even a labyrinth to walk. (The steam bath was a bit much for me, though. Next time, when my body says "I'm done" I'm getting right out and heading for the cold plunge.)

I might be helping her with a web page, too. Which would be a good thing -- if she had a web page, I'd post it.

Then we went to spend time with my mother's ex-fiance's mother (kind of an adopted grandma, I've known her most of my life). Talking with her, and seeing the assisted living facility she's in makes me think I'm really on the right track with the idea of teaching Tai Chi to seniors. Too bad she lives in Silverdale... Of course, even at just about ninety she's very active and in good health.

Then I got back to Edmonds, our point of departure (by which point I had a somewhat dreadful headache) and found

a) that there was a handwritten note stuffed into the handle of my car door telling me that salavation was available only to those who have repented and accepted the love of Jesus Christ, and

b) that my lights had been left on and my battery was dead

This is somewhat complicated by the fact that I had checked the car from across the street and down a bit before I left with my mother and should have seen if the lights were on. Of course, I also leave the door unlocked, because it's a soft top and I'd rather they don't cut the top. (Though unsnapping it would do the job.) Could someone have turned on my lights and then left the obnoxious note? I mean, I certainly have left my lights on before, but... weird.

Perhaps they saw that my lights were left on and interpreted this as a cry for help. (In which case, I wish they'd turned them off. I would have been rather more impressed.)
