Apr. 5th, 2003 08:52 pmLast year at about this time I decided that I needed a lightweight hiking jacket, so I went to REI and found just the thing, and it has served me very well... Except sometime this winter I start to notice that it was fitting awfully loose. And then I noticed that I could wear it, zipped up, over my lumbar pack with both bottles... And then I took it biking and it felt like I was wearing a sail.
Um... okay, I know I've lost a bit of size, but I didn't think it was *that* much of a difference. Anyhow, REI finally got this year's jackets in, and I went in to se if the colors were tolerable. Turned out to be their spring sale, so I now own a very close to identical jacket in green. Men's large, which is okay, though most of my shirts are now women's larges, which is weird. This whole wearing larges instead of extra larges bit is still kind of throwing me -- hello, screw how much fat I am or am not carrying, I am extra large. I am taller and broader shouldered than almost any other woman I know (yes, I know, I said almost)... Feh.
I would be less bitter if I could find pants that fit that weren't athletic pants or biking shorts. And with pants, going over to men's doesn't do it.
