Hmmm.... so is the next one The Matrix: the New Covenant?
Actually, I liked this one, rather more than the last I think. I still think the least interesting thing about it is the plot (though it's an improvement from number one) but the handling of imagery is superb. Highly referential, perhaps, and I did sometimes wonder if I wasn't seeing the same film the other people in the theater were, but visual stunning. I particularly liked the contrast between Zion and the world of the matrix in terms of warmth, sensuality and texture.
Tell me, though, did anyone else spend much of the movie supressing giggles? I loved the way the movie played with cliches and cultural referents, but everyone else seemed to be so serious...!
