Dances with Insurance
Jul. 2nd, 2003 01:59 pmI really hope that this isn't going to get all complicated. It may well not ;-) But I keep being woken up by people who want me to describe the accident ("I was sitting at a red light with my foot on the brake, and all of the sudden this guy ran in to me" -- honestly, there's just not that much to tell).
I'm amazed how quickly I'm bouncing back. I usually expect things to hurt the most on the second day after, but I'm really feeling better than I did right after the accident. Though as the initial reaction fades I'm starting to notice things that were down below the radar -- my ankle, for instance, of the foot that was on the brake, is all sore and swollen. Not a big deal, really, but kind of annoying. My neck and back are pretty crabby, and in somewhat new and different ways, but not anything like what I was worried about. Getting some pricklies up the side of my neck and head.
So... do I head in with Brendan and Ari and introduce them to the kids' wushu class? I'm not sure I'm up for class. (Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm not up for a full class, and I have double class tonight, but I can always bring a book and sit on the sidelines.) I really like the idea of getting Corinne to give me a ride in, and then getting to decide at that point whether or not I'm up for staying for class at all. (But Corinne has qualms about "luring me out of the house". Feh. I don't really feel up to extended driving, but maybe if I tell her I'm thinking of driving myself if the boys don't come? That would kind of kill two birds with one stone.)
Stupid ankle.
