Tech enthusiasm
Aug. 6th, 2003 10:12 amSo I decided what keyboard I wanted -- after playing around with a few, the pocketVIK had the best feel of the portables I found. Of course, local stores don't carry it for iPaq, and I wasn't sure about compatibility, but just finding the hardware was a good start. (By the way, I realize flexible plastic keyboards aren't to everyone's taste, but I'd really recommend checking these guys out. Nice feel to the keys.)
So, this morning I called the company, and they think the current drivers will work just fine, though they haven't had a chance to play with the 2215 themselves yet. So I have carte blanche to call up and yammer at them if there are any problems. And then, while I was talking to them I just happened to stumble on their yahoo shopping page, where they're selling a couple of iPaq keyboards with cosmetically flawed packaging for half price. So not only am I getting my keyboard, but it's going to be less than $25 including shipping.
Though I almost wonder if I should have shelled out the money to get it overnighted... I want it here now, dammit!

I called in a prescription for the miracle drug they've had me on since the accident yesterday. Unfortunately, with a 48 hour turn around I'll get it tomorrow, and I'm out today (because I'm stupid and miscounted over the weekend when I worked out when I needed to call it in). I'm kind of embarrassed to call my doctor's office up to get it speeded up... and I don't know how big a deal it is -- I've been wanting to try ramping down again, and until I do that I don't know how much it's doing for me.
And Wednesday before double classes, with plans for Thursday and Friday as well isn't when I'd prefer to start experimenting... Oh well. Maybe I'll pop a couple of Alieve and hope that holds me. I wanted to do some forms and maybe biking before class today anyway.

Aug. 6th, 2003 11:55 pmTired and achey, but that's not surprising -- my back's been a little tweaked, and that on top of not having my drugs is kind of a set up... It's a very specific sort of tweak, though. (And some general "hey, you have whiplash!" soreness.) And my hips are being a little more obvious about not quite moving right (gah! when it's all about moving from your center, and your center isn't really stable, what's a girl to do? I mean, it is coming back, but it's really frustrating, too) but that's also probably because the muscles are more sore from not being medicated. Good class.
Something we worked on in PT on Tuesday has things stirred up, too -- it, honest to god, has something to do with my upper back and neck, my hip (especially my left hip) and the tightness in my left leg. Not much fun, and it tends to make me vaguely sick to my stomach, but I think it's really important, even if working on it makes me feel kind of lousy.
Oh, but I have a massage tomorrow. And I just took the muscle relaxants I should have taken last night. And despite everything, I felt better by the end of taiji.
