So after my morning round of appointments today, I was going to get a few things done at home and then head over to my mother's for an exercise in fillial piety. (This is her last week of vacation.)

First, my mom, who'd been on my case for the last couple of weeks for me to come over, forgot our date, and didn't call me until a couple hours after I expected her home. But it wasn't quite horrible rush hour traffic yet, so we made plans to meet up and make dinner, and I set off with a basket full of produce over my arm, and since I was making good time decided to stop in Redmond for a smoothie since I only had a couple slices of bread with mushroom brie today.

Leaving the smoothie place, my car stalled. (BTW, I'm guessing it *is* a clogged fuel filter, and I'd wanted to take it in today, but Craig's car needed more transmission fluid, so I didn't since mine mostly seemed drivable. And then Craig didn't get his dealt with anyway....)

So I pushed it around the parking lot (which I was worried might hurt my neck, but actually seems to have left me feeling better) sat around and waited, tried to start it again, talked to the mechanic down the street, listened to the Tavis Smiley show, read some of the Hobbit off my PDA and generally expressed great frustration with the universe, with my basket full of squash and okra and green beans and peppers and really fresh basil that would not be fresh for so much longer on the seat next to me.

Eventually I got it working, and even managed to drive the thing over to my mechanic's in Woodinville (who were expecting me, because the last part to fix the damage from the accident just got in). And then I got to walk all the way across Woodinville with my basket full of veggies over my arm. I was starting to feel like Little Red Riding Hood. I was starting to think a Big Bad Wolf would be kind of amusing.

Instead I got a very confused man at the bus station who was having trouble remembering what bus he needed and lo and behold, the bus that stops at the corner of our property came ten minutes later, and brought me and my produce back home.

Does anyone want some hops? I have lots and lots of willamette and gold hops, and while I mostly grow them because they're pretty (and I use a small amount of hops in this and that each year) mostly I'm way overstocked. Anyone want some?
